Area of Research:

Modelling of socio-technical systems/scientometric evaluation. She is working in an interdisciplinary area where the interaction of science, technology and society is viewed as a complex, evolving, nonlinear, stochastic system. Elements of the system analysed using ideas of nonlinear dynamics, chaos and fractals. Simulations attempted using models based on stochastic cellular automata. In the context of diffusion of new technologies, attempted forecasts for the computer industry in India at the firm level, with reasonable success. Other problems relate to models of competition between technologies, technological substitution and the control of diffusion process in self-organising (Cybernetic) systems. The assumptions of the diffusion model partially cerified using industry level data for India.
